Rose Red by Sons and Daughters

The renowned Glaswegian indie/alternative band, Sons and Daughters strikes back with another amazing single Rose Red from their latest album Mirror Mirror. The song is scheduled to be released 17th October and is accompanied by a music video directed by Blair Young of Forest of Black productions.

The music which reminds us somewhat of Pulp Fiction, captivates the audience with its beautifully co-ordinated pulsating bass, confident, rhythmic drums, spellbinding guitar and the smokey, dark and hypnotic voice of band's lead singer - Adele.

On the symbolic level, we quickly associate the single to Stephen King's story about a haunted mansion named Rose Red, as the video is shot mainly in a derelict, old building, that brings an element of the unknown, perilous and transcendental.

Yet, we discover that the song is about an unknown person: "I've left no trace, try and find me" and "no one's around, you're not a face to remember", who unveils the story and is called by the title name: "come follow, follow me, be sweet my Rose Red" by another stranger. Sons and Daughters uncovered the newest recording was actually inspired by 'Bible John' - a Glaswegian serial killer from mid '60s who was believed to find his victims at the city's Barrowlands Ballroom.

Sons and Daughters are on tour throughout the UK during October. They will be playing the following gigs:
